Drew Nutter  Area Practice Manager

CPO, LPO

Drew Nutter is a Certified, Licensed Prosthetist/Orthotist working in the Kenney Orthopedics Charlotte/Monroe areas. Drew received his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. His post graduate education includes an MBA from WVU, a master's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from East Carolina University, and a Master’s of Prosthetics and Orthotics from Northwestern University. He began working in the O&P field in 2015 when he joined Kenney Orthopedics, and has since worked with a variety of patients of all ages.  In his free time, Drew enjoys being outdoors, exercising, exploring new areas, and enjoying in one of the great gifts from God, eating good food. 

Clay Claiborne

CPO

Clay is a native of Charlotte, NC, and attended NC State University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. Clay felt a strong desire to help people and make a difference in the lives of others. To fulfill this desire, he attended the University of California at Dominguez Hills where he graduated with a certificate in Prosthetics and Orthotics. He has over 25 years of experience as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist. In 2005, Clay founded Claiborne Prosthetics & Orthotics to better serve the Charlotte community which merged with Kenney Orthopedics in 2023. Throughout his career, Clay has worked with all levels of amputees. His experience with different components and designs has given him a vast knowledge of developing a system that is most beneficial to the individual patient. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new wines and spending time in the mountains.

Katie Fisher

CPO

​Katie is originally from PA where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Pennsylvania State University in 2011 and her Masters of Prosthetics and Orthotics at University of Pittsburgh in 2013. She has practiced in Chicago, IL and Denver, CO prior to making Charlotte her new home in 2022. Pediatrics is her true passion and loves being able to see a child being carried into the office and then running with a glowing smile out the office in their new braces. In her free time, Katie loves exploring this new city with her husband and dog, Riley. She loves hiking, cheering on her Nittany Lions and exploring breweries around the city.

Michael Franz

CTP, BOCP

Michael was raised in Charlotte, NC. His brother is in the O&P field and after visiting him at work throughout his childhood, he fell in love with prosthetics. He got his start as a Certified Prosthetic Technician in 2007 and did his schooling at Century College prior to becoming a Certified Prosthetist in 2015. What Michael loves most about this field is the hands-on aspect and the craftwork that goes into it. While he loves all aspects of fabrication in being a technician, meeting his first amputee and working with them is what drew him into patient care and becoming a practitioner.  In his free time, Michael enjoys camping, fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, yardwork, and home renovations. He loves spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two dogs, Sir Augustus Pickles and George.

Nicholas Gardner

MSPO

Nicholas Gardner, MSPO, received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Public Health from the University of South Carolina, and his Masters of Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in the field since 2020, and joined Kenney Orthopedics in 2023 where he splits his time between the Charlotte and Monroe, NC offices. During his free time you can find Nick exercising, mountain biking or exploring the city.
