Dennis Oehler

Dennis Oehler became a below-knee amputee at age 24 as a result of an

automobile accident. Determined to resume his athletic endeavors, he tried

out for the 1988 Paralympics Track and Field Team. Not only did Dennis

make the team, he set a world record in the 100-meter event and won gold

medals in the 200- and 400- meter events. He also brought home medals from

Barcelona and Atlanta. Dennis has been working with amputees for more

than 15 years, teaching them how to walk and instilling the confidence they

need to improve their quality of life.
